He began his practice over 10 years ago. Attending various workshops and maintaining a consistent personal practice has brought him to the place of dedicating his life to the guidance of others. Erick has played sports his entire life and understands the importance of yoga in an athletes life. The journey itself is as important as the destination. Powerful messages to restore peace and contentment are provided throughout the class. The physical aspects are a fusionistic approach of bringing the best of many traditional hot yoga into one complete practice. Poses are held for a duration and a vinyasa flow component is added in between sequences to provide circulation and body movement. It is strength, cardio and peace all in one. Yoga promotes weight loss, lowers stress, improves brain functioning, strengthens immune system, stabilizes moods, lowers chronic pain and will DRASTICALLY improve your body's overall appearance. Our studio maintains a 90 degree temperature and a 40 percent humidity level. The humidity allows you to glisten, breathe healthy (without dryness) and detoxify. The heat will make you stronger, healthier and happier. Avoid injury, burn calories and feel magnificent. 90 Degrees is an active yoga practice. Allison has been practicing yoga for over 16 years and Hot Yoga for over 13 years. She became "hooked" on yoga after her first Bikram class in Florida, taught by James Barkan (founder of Barkan Method and considered one of Bikram's senior instructors) in 1997. From that point forward her love of yoga "in the heat" flourished and grew, even through pregnancy! She continued to take classes daily for the next eight years at James Barkan's studio in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In addition, she studied Sampoorna Yoga directly with Yogi Hari. As well as completing various Power Yoga, vinyasa and Iyengar workshops. Allison was certified and trained at Barsana Dham Ashram. The experience allowed her to truly understand the roots of yoga and honor its heritage. Allison is a certified and registered Yoga Alliance instructor whom passionately loves teaching yoga. Upon moving here from Florida, her goal has been to join "Hot" and "Yoga"as one here in Greenville! We work the body, building strength and flexiability. The elevated room temperature promotes detoxification, increases weight loss, relieves tension, boosts immune system and helps prevent injury. Poses are held for 20-30 seconds and repeated.
